Frequently asked questions

A CPAP prescription is required for an AirFit P10. Cost and coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. After your doctor has provided you with a prescription, we recommend first contacting your insurance provider to learn more about what’s covered under your plan. Then you can find CPAP stores near you or online.

The home medical equipment supplier – the store where you picked up your CPAP mask and machine – is responsible for providing you with ongoing clinical support, including answering any questions and helping you resolve any mask comfort or fitting issues that you may be experiencing. Getting used to a mask can be challenging and there may be a different mask option that will work better for your personal comfort needs, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Not sure who your medical equipment supplier is? We can help. Fill out our Contact Us form or call us at 1-800-424-0737.

You should clean your mask daily. Facial oil and dirt can easily build up on your mask parts when they’re not cleaned properly, which can lead to skin irritation. The good news? Cleaning your mask doesn’t take long, so working it into your morning routine should be a breeze.

HOW TO CLEAN AIRFIT P10:

Time it takes: 5 minutes

Supplies you’ll need to clean your mask:

  1. Sink or tub
  2. Warm, drinking-quality water (86°F / 30°C)
  3. Mild or hypoallergenic soap, or baby shampoo
  4. Towel

Daily step-by-step cleaning tips:

  1. Unplug your CPAP machine from the power source.
  2. Disconnect your mask and tubing parts from your machine.
  3. Disassemble your mask into three parts: headgear, cushion and frame.
  4. In the sink, clean your mask cushion and headgear to remove any oils. Gently rub with warm, drinking-quality water and mild soap.
  5. Avoid harsh cleaning products, including dish detergents, which may damage the mask or leave harmful residue.
  6. Rinse again thoroughly with warm, drinking-quality water.
  7. Place the cushion and frame on a towel and allow the parts to dry away from direct sunlight on a flat surface.

Use of ozone3 may discolor a Resmed mask during the Resmed limited warranty period and that will not be covered. Discoloration of Resmed masks is only covered during the limited warranty period if it occurs upon initial unpackaging.

It’s important to take regular care of your CPAP equipment – especially the various parts of your mask, which can be affected by dirt, oil and residue from your skin. Poorly cleaned CPAP masks can cause discomfort and skin irritation. The last thing we all need is another to-do item, so contact your CPAP equipment store and ask if they have a replacement supply (resupply) program that you can enroll in to get new parts on a consistent schedule.

Most CPAP masks have silicone cushions because it’s a hypoallergenic material that’s soft, lightweight and allows for a stable, comfortable seal on your face while you’re sleeping. It’s important that you decide what’s most comfortable for you and your therapy when it comes to your mask cushion. If you have issues with your current mask, contact your CPAP equipment store to let them know so you can try a different mask.

AirFit P10 for Her is the same mask as an AirFit P10 except it has lavender accents rather than the standard blue, and comes in sizes Extra Small, Small and Medium.
