Frequently asked questions
A prescription is required for an AirCurve 10 ST-A. Cost and coverage varies by insurance provider and plan. After your doctor has written you a prescription, we recommend first contacting your insurance provider to learn more about what’s covered under your plan, then locating a CPAP equipment store near you.
Your AirCurve 10 ST-A machine has been set up for your needs by your medical equipment supplier – the store where you picked up your equipment. But you may want to make small adjustments based on your comfort needs. Here are some tips on how to adjust the comfort settings.
How to access your comfort settings on the AirCurve 10 ST-A:
On your AirCurve 10 ST-A machine, rotate the dial to highlight My Options and press the dial to see your current settings. From here, you can personalize your options.
Humidity Level
The humidifier moistens the air and is designed to make your therapy more comfortable. If you’re getting a dry nose or mouth, turn up the humidity. If you’re getting any moisture in your mask, turn down the humidity.
You can manually set the Humidity Level to Off or between 1 and 8, where 1 is the lowest humidity setting and 8 is the highest humidity setting.
How to adjust humidity:
- In My Options, turn the dial to highlight Humidity Level and then press the dial.
- Turn the dial to adjust the humidity level and press the dial to save the change.
If you continue to get a dry nose or mouth, or moisture in your mask, consider using ClimateLineAir™ heated air tubing. ClimateLineAir together with Climate Control delivers more comfortable therapy.
Ramp Time
Ramp Time is the period during which the pressure increases from a low start airflow pressure to your prescribed treatment pressure. You can set your Ramp Time to Off, 5 to 45 minutes.
How to adjust Ramp Time:
- In My Options, turn the dial to highlight Ramp Time and then press the dial.
- Turn the dial to adjust the ramp time to your preferred setting and press the dial to save the change.

You should clean your machine weekly.
How to clean your AirCurve 10 ST-A
Time it takes: 5 minutes
Weekly step-by-step cleaning tips:
- Unplug the machine.
- Wash the water tub and air tubing in warm water using mild detergent. Do not wash in a dishwasher or washing machine.
- Rinse the water tub and air tubing thoroughly and allow to dry out of direct sunlight and/or heat.
- Wipe the exterior of the device with a dry cloth or towel.
Resmed has observed that prolonged and repeated use of an ozone device may eventually cause internal damage to a Resmed machine, leading to an increase in motor noise. The Resmed limited warranty excludes damage to Resmed machines caused by use of ozone devices.
It’s important to take regular care of your therapy supplies – especially your machine supplies, which can be affected by dirt and general wear. You should regularly check the water tub, air tubing and the air filter for any damage.
Here are some replacement tips for your AirCurve ST-A machine:
- Water tub:
- Replace if it begins leaking or has become cracked, cloudy or pitted.
- Replace if the seal is cracked or torn.
- Remove any white powder deposits using a solution of one-part household vinegar to 10 parts water.
- Air tubing:
- Replace if there are any holes, tears or cracks.
- Air filter:
- Replace if it air filters have become dirty or clogged, which can expose you to airborne particles, mold and bacteria.
- Replacement is recommended at twice per month.
Your medical equipment provider may have a replacement supply (resupply) program that you can enroll in to get new parts on a consistent schedule. You should also check with your insurance to see what replacement parts are covered under your plan and how often you can replace them.
